In this four-hour workshop, author Leni Levenson Wiener will teach the techniques in her new book, "Thread Painting , Simple Techniques to Add Texture and Dimension." (Signed copies will be available for purchase at the Quilter's Alley.)

Beginning with a brief overview of free-motion stitching, the workshop will cover simple thread sketches, thread sketches from photography, and free-motion lettering.

You will learn the basics of thread painting and Leni will show you how to thread paint and thread sketch without doing any drawing, painting or tracing, either on existing fabrics or using your own photos.

Level:

Some familiarity with the fundamentals fo free-motion stitching is preferred. This class will b ehands-on machine sewing and students will need a sewing machine in good working condition with a darning foot.
